Mine are cheapo home made. First, the uneven lie ramp. I actually got the idea from a Shawn Clement video on uneven lies, and made a cheaper version for garden use. It's a detachable puzzle mat with an ebay-bought artificial turf golf mat on a wooden ramp. My 2nd invention is .... the backswing stretcher! Actually, it's just 4 used shafts taped around another used shaft. This is a weighted stretching device. I have another one ... the on-plane rotation guide ... but it's basically just a long stick, hehehe.

Right now I use just a specialized impact bag that all ABS golfers have to make themselves. We basically take carpet pieces and stuff the into a canvas bag that you can get at a Army/Navy Store. Here's a pic of one student's impact bag. This one is far better constructed than my own impact bag. I probably use this about 4-5 times a week, trying to do Module 2 about 50-150 reps each time. 3JACK

I also used to use an impact bag too, but it's no where near as heavy duty as that one. I'm thinking if you're used to pivoting through that big impact bag, the golf ball will fly for miles. I've graduated from impact bags, though; now, I just go to the woods and start chopping tress ... with my 2 iron.

I haven't used the Taly in a long time. I think it's a good tool, probably best for the golfer that is beginning in TGM.
The impact bag we use for ABS, we don't take full swings into it or at least to my knowledge we don't. I'm only in Module 3, Teddy is in Module 7 (I think).
In module 1 and 2 we use the impact bag and we basically take a 'swing' that goes from about our waist.

I have an impact bag just like the one in that picture. It's true that we never take full swings into the bag in any of the modules, although sometimes Lag demonstrates one in the module 6 video just to show various swing path possibilities. In modules 5 and 6 we also use the impact bag in different ways. By the way, I'm on mod 6 still. I believe in mod 7 we take full swings without a bag and concentrate on connection and pressures, but I'm not sure.
I have a Taly too but never really got on with it. In full swings it seemed a bit uncomfortable and loose so I gave up using it.
Richie, did you ever try any of the suggested drills using the Taly other than the FLW training?

The Taly feels uncomfortable swinging the club at first, but if you stick with it really doesn't become an issue. It does a great job of providing the student with visual feedback from their perspective.

Rangefinders/GPS units. Some folks use these efficiently and do well by them. That has not been my general experience playing with Joe Golfer. It sure gets irritating when a person checks from the tee, goes to the second shot and checks, duffs it, moves 15 yards or so, reads again, on and on all the way to the green including a couple duffed short pitches of which each is measured through the RF. Yesterday I played golf with a guy who had a GPS. Each shot took extra time while he fiddled with the damned machine. I'm all for going back to the old days without so much as a 150 yrd. marker. Learn to play the damned game.
