A couple of questions.
Generally, how much swing weight does lead tape add? Where is the best place to put lead tape on a club if only to increase the swing weight.
How much does shaft weight play on swing weight? For example if I switch from S300 shafts to S400 how much swing weight increase should I expect?
Thanks.

You need to get the high density lead tape. It's just like regular lead tape, but it weighs more. A 2" strip of HD lead tape = 1 swing weight point.
I just try to put the lead tape so it fits on the back part of the club without going over 'the edge' of the sole, hosel or toe. I try to do it so I can get that 2" strip as low on the face as I can without it 'going over the edge.'
As far as shafts go, it depends on the shaft. I think about 10 grams of difference in shaft weight equals about 1.5 swingweight points. Going from S300 to S400, they pretty much weigh the same, so no difference would be noticed. But if you went from a KBS 90 gram shaft to a KBS 130 gram shaft, big difference in swingweight.
