Per ESPN.
Although ESPN has been wrong before, almost countless times. Bu tthe Minneapolis papers are reporting it as well. We'll see how this develops. But, the Bears' chances just got better.

I hope so, as I don't even watch football. The noise and drama around this guy is as bad as the reality shows I don't watch....

Oh how shocking.....he just wants to skip training camp and the pre season games..............I bet all my money he takes the field the first week.

yeah, I'm thinking that as well.
Jay Glazer reported that he was telling people he was going to retire and Glazer is usually very accurate. But now there seems to be a bit of a backpedal and they are just saying 'well, this is what he texted people.'
I'm not sure why all the secretive code though. Just come out and say 'I don't want to play preseason and don't want to go to training camp.'
I suspect Favre things Childress isn't for it, which is probably true. But all of this is really silly.

I live in MN. Until we make a trade for another quarterback, my guess is that he's going to play.
The team has spent a lot of money on building a championship team and they're trying to get a new stadium built in the Twin Cities, so the worst thing that could happen from their perspective is to have a mediocre season. That means there's no way they'll depend on Tavaris or Sage at QB. Both have proven to be ineffective.

I don't see how Favre can escape an NFL rush being 1 year older. He didn't escape all that much last year. Now he is even a little more brittle. The other three quarterbacks better be ready. As for a new stadium, Pish Posh. The state needs infrastructure.
