What is a better pivot with the shoulders and hips - more rotation? What is better leg work? Right now, I focus on: side bend at address, twistaway in backswing, hold the side bend through impact, which has led to draws or straight shots.
I've shot some good scores recently (for me), but here's an example of good hole for me. 419 yard par 4 dogleg right. Straight drive left center of fairway. 189 yard second shot. Not exactly bombing it off the tee. 4-hybrid to 12 feet. Not even close on the birdie putt.
This works on a 6500-6600 yard course. Not on one that's 6900-7000.

The longest hitters on Tour tend to have the most hip turn. But...when we start listening to guys like Jim McLean and their 'X Factor', we start thinking we have to minimize the hip turn, increase the shoulder turn for max power. It really doesn't work that way...in fact, that not only hurts clubhead speed, but probably will cause an over the top move. Look at some of these guys at the top of their swing: It requires a straightened right leg 3JACK

I'm not tyring to restrict anything during the swing except for keeping my side bend through impact. Jim Kobylinski has me hitting it better (straighter), but I still don't hit it far.
So letting the right leg straighten more to turn the shoulders more?

Better legwork for me means:
Ground pressures. The faster I post up onto my left leg, the harder I crush the can, the better I hit the ball.

Hey Carland,
Nothing wrong with playing courses at 6500 yds. It took me a while to get used to it, but that's my distance now. I won't play a course that measures over 6600 or so. It's just not fun at 7K for me. When I played with Richie I played the Blues and he played from a different area code.
It's all a steady progression to the senior tee and for us guys to more important indicators of virility declining to the level that Master's and Johnson referred to 'seepage.'
Look on the bright side -- and if you can see anything there , let me know
