Put it on Windows Movie Maker. That usually helps.

these are great ideas, but embarrassing as it may be for such a 'modern guy' i am totally clueless how to do any of it. I am sending the two vids to Natep who is going to help me. I'd like to say that the swing vids are more than worth the wait, but that wouldn't be true. :-)

Thanks Natep for posting. Now a bit of description. These are after one lesson of darome. only from p3- p9. still lots of work to do. i posted so there would be a baseline as I am soon to have another couple of darome sessions in February. closed stance is part of the drill and was trying to learn the motion without worrying so much about direction. hands still too far behind right leg at p6. very good compression under the circumstances and good start at CP release. these are big changes for me so felt good about one hour's progress been practicing the positions in slow motion as I have been stuck indoors in NYC and Ct and recuperating from heart attack surgery/procedure. Hoping for bigger improvements next time as I have a better feel for where I need to be at various points in teh swing. will keep everyone posted

Good luck with darome. I'd like to know how things progress for you. Who are you seeing for instruction? ... and above all else, take your time recuperating... and pay someone to shovel the snow for you.

I am working with George Hunt in Orlando. Same person that Richie is working with. I am going slow as I can continue to recuperate from heart surgery. Had a lesson yesterday. Spent a couple of hours with George and as always learned an enormous amount. Played a round of golf afterwards at Stoneybrook East in Orlando. Scored well but hit the ball like someone who had just come from a lesson :-) Anyone in the Orlando area -- I came from NYC -- I can strongly recommend George as a teacher. He's good on the lesson tee and in his office afterwards on the computer.
Good at overall picture and good on the component parts; also good with drilling the feelings.

You must be on Sabbatical to be there this time of year Enjoy man!

No sabbatical for me -- just a supportive Dean. I took all of February off and will be starting my seminar in March and doubling up my teaching so meeting twice as often. It's more than worth it. downside of Florida is that the golf courses are awfully flat. The challenge is in the wind which is very difficult almost all the time -- and the occasional alligator :-)

I realized that I couldn't get to Orlando often enough to make working with George Hunt sensible. I need regular review of what I am up to. What to do? Well I was impressed with Spencer Huggins's work with Cloran (scoring aside); and decided to send Spencer a couple of vids of my swing to see what he had to say and suggest. Well he was terrific. I can't believe how much time he put in on my swing. More importantly, his insight was terrific. I am posting what my swing looks like after only ten days work. Among Spencer's insights was figuring out exactly what pattern would likely work best for me; and we have drawn up a plan together. It goes in stages. In the first part I worked on getting more axis tilt at p5, improve my tilts and do what I could to reduce my pivot stall and resultant clubhead throw-away. Within a few days some progress had been made and I turned my attention to Spencer's next set of directives which included powering the swing from p5.5 on with my shoulders only -- rendering the arms entirely passive. the vids attached reflect my first half hour of work on this phase of the plan. more vids to follow. comments? Here's some down the line swings. sorry for my total incompetence with the video cam. it's all new to me. i just bought it and haven't figured out how to edit. Frankly, i haven't figured much out at all Looking forward to your comments. As you can see, I have abandoned the CP pattern as too demanding for me in terms of time commitment to master at this stage of my golfing career. So part of the problem is that I am caught in the middle blending too many patterns. that said I think I am on the right path overall. Even with the modest progress I made last week I was able to take the game ot the course and score well at Tucker's Point in Bermuda where my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary. Had never been before. Nice course which became pretty demanding on the second day in the face of a Howling Wind (as Graham Parker would say). Attachments:

It looks really good TD. You're getting much higher at P4. Have you noticed any increase in distance?
Glad to hear you're working with Spencer. I recommend him to everyone I can... like you said, scoring aside, he's really helped move me in the right direction.

thanks Cloran, you can't compare these with my swings with George since those were based on stopping at p3. i hadn't been approved for a backswing to p4 :-) so the two are not comparable. the big differences have to do with tilting. in my GH swings I was very level at p5 and that's great for someone who can turn thru fast enough, but I couldn't consistently and had to move in another direction. that new direction required gaining axis tilt which was relatively new and also standing up a bit thru impact. still have a lot of work to do on that front.

That looks really good to me. Very clean motion. I don't see a lot of wasted movement.
I must tell you that my wife watching over my shoudler just made the comment "I would love to get him in one of my Yoga classes." You have such great movement that I am sure that any regained range of motion would be greatly beneficial to your swing.
All in all I am very impressed with your current swing. Looks like you could play with that action for a long time.
