I love your swing. So simple and smooth. The progress is showing.

Making progress -- overall. I have worked a lot, both with Spencer's guidance and on my own. I have a swing that 'covers up' a lot of mistakes with good rhythm and timing. The swing on the right shows up over and over and over no matter what pattern I have been working on. The hips move toward the ball, I stand up, lose my inclination to the ground and release the angles early. but I hit it pretty well nonetheless -- even consistently so; but i have known all along there is something wrong or ineffective about the swing. I even had a three hour range session hitting the ball very well. Everything repeated as well as possible and when I took vids it was the same move that you see on the right. I was distressed and depressed until I started working on two moves in conjunction. on the backswing I moved my right butt cheek deep and towards the left as always. But I finally developed a way of getting my left butt moving deep and back to the right after transitioning. At the same time I felt myself holding my core 'in' to the spine and moving my right shoulder down the plane. The result is the imagi you see at the left I can get to these positions without pain and naturally; the next task is to make sure I get there always and dynamically. Updates of the swing in motion as I have them. Attachments:

OK. I see that no one is interested in my swing -- and i can't blame you. :-) But maybe you will be interested in this. I am demo-ing a driver made in Japan and not normally available on the uS market. It is the Ryoma. I don't know if anyone else has heard of it or hit it. I received it in the mail yesterday while here in Florida. This morning I received an Honorary Degree from Stetson Law School (yes I am bragging) and it was an awesome experience. I addressed the graduating class. My wife told me I had to be humorous and inspirational. Well it was a great experience. My first Honorary Degree;and I rewarded myself by going out to the range to hit balls this afternoon in anticipation of my round of golf tomorrow with 3Jack. My initial report is that this thng is amazing. I will know more tomorrow after I play on a course with Richie and he gives it a whirl. I will take pictures as well and load to the website. The driver was unbelievably accurate. I couldn't judge distance but it is supposed to go between 15-20 yds farther than the best of the rest. I will know more tomorrow. It's main advantage is control apparently and I hit one after another on line with terrific trajectory for me. Initial impression is quite favorable. More to follow. Very pricey -- around 1.3K Unfortunately they don't pay for an Honorary Degree.
I am the only person I know whose mid life crises is manifested in golf clubs not Porsches or Porsche worthy driving companions. Where did i go wrong

I have never heard of the driver, wonder what they are doing to get the extra distance.
I read about your swing, always interesting.

Keep posting your swing updates. It is always great to see the improvement of others. Improving our swings is always a challenge and watching someone else try and work at it is always a comfort.

Played a round today with Richie. Great company. Richie can also kill the ball. On one hole when I hit a pretty good drive from the Blues, he outhit me by 35 yards from the Blacks. A drive of a mere 330. It was a course neither of us had played before which wasn't much of a problem except when it was --- about 6 holes with water in play that we had no idea was there. Aside from that there was some pretty good golf all around. I even had three birdies and lots of pars -- and the occasional lost ball in a water hazard we had no idea was there. The darome swing pattern has worked well for Richie and his ball trajectory was great. I am as ever between patterns and manage nonetheless to hit a shocking number of good shots. I hit the Ryoma driver very well while not fully having a handle on it. I would say that my better drives were around 250 or so and that is good enough for me to play golf. I took pictures of my swing after we played and will post later.

Thanks. Heritage Isles is a pretty crazy place. I don't think that waitress was in the mood to serve us either. Here's the pic of the Ryoma driver Tightdraw is talking about. When you lay it down, you can't see the bottom sole plate thingy....it looks like a standard driver. I thought it was pretty nice and I could hit it pretty hard. Tightdraw was hitting it quite well. 3JACK

Congrats on the honorary degree! You should have ended your speech with: "Richie3jack.com RULES! Wooooo!"
That's what I would have done anyway.

If you have never been to Augusta, you think that #18 is hit out of a tiny shoot. Once you go to Augusta, you start to see that it's not tiny and that a decent drive will be okay. Heritage Isles played like that tiny shoot you see on #18 off the tee. And then you would think it would open up...only to have water there. Jed Azinger is not my favorite architect #17 was a 249 yard par-3 from the backs...into the wind. I didn't play very well, but it didn't bother me because it wasn't a serious round or anything. I would've liked to have seen how far I actually hit the Ryoma drvier. The ball flight was a little higher for me but I could see it continuing to climb upwards when with my Adams Speedline it would've started descending towards the ground. And there was NOBODY on the golf course. The only person we saw there was the cart girl. 3JACK

Just so you know, that driver has a COR of 0.86, so it's non-conforming in the US.

The shaft the Ryoma demo came with is too weak for Richie. I have a Speedline and G-15 Ping and my sense is the Ryoma longer for me than either. Richie is right. There was no one on the course. The cart girl was so bored that she came by on the 14th hole and announced that it was last call for soft drinks. and this was at 2;30 in the afternoon!
afterwards i took some pictures of my swing will post when my plane lands in Miami

Richie forgot to mention that the par 3 was also a dogleg to the right -- seriously. Here's my swing. i took these hitting shots with the ball in front of my left foot so that will explain the odd alignments. i did it to practice swinging left and more importantly to ingrain a sense of commitment to the shot. i actually like my swing but for an early club head throwaway between 55 and p6. Anyone who can offer help will be my friend forever. I have a good short game and hit the ball painfully straight, but the loss in compression is too depressing for me HELP Attachments:
