Curious if anybody has used this before. After reading Wishon's post on 10 myths of golf shafts, it's apparent that the bend profile is far more important to understand.

What I've learned on this software is that it gives the shaft bend profiles of almost any shaft out there. Thus, one can find a shaft that they like and get the shaft bend profile of it and compare it to other shafts and their bend profiles. So, let's say you really like the Graphite Design AD-DI shaft, but can't afford the price tag associated with it. You can go onto the software and find another shaft with a similar profile.
I think I'm going to get this down the road.

Fooled around with this last night. It'll take some time to understand it better and to know how to use it better. It does have a ton of shafts in the system.
The only problem is that it appears a bit slow on getting newer shafts data in there. I didn't see Graphite Design's AD-DI shafts and there was no Talamonti shaft or KBS C-Taper
Still, it's amazing how a stiff flex can be totally different from one company to the next.

What's the name of the software and cost?
Are the shafts measured by frequency?

It's Wishon's proprietary software. You can get it at wishon golf for $125.
It gives out the bend profile frequencies (the frequency of the shaft along certain areas of the shaft). It also gives the weight and balance point.

Man, if u want hi end shaft for cheap.. Let me know. 220 for most high end shafts.
Tried talamonti.. Sorry buts its not my cup.
Spend more get fubuki k or di tourad.

With the shaft bend profile software, you can get the bend profile and characteristics of a very expensive shaft and find cheaper priced alternatives that practically have the same profile. One clubfitter pointed out this to me with a Diamana shaft versus a much cheaper Aldila shaft. Practically the same exact profile.

What Aldila comes close to a White and/or Blueboard? S and X flex. 73 grams +/-.

IIRC, it's the Diamana Blueboard 63 gram and the Aldila NVS 65. Practically the same shaft.

When I had my clubs fitted my fitter and I used it extensively to explain his choice of shafts to me. When I mentioned the fact that I liked the whiteboard 73S he always chuckled and said 'don't get fooled by the price tag'...

IIRC, it's the Diamana Blueboard 63 gram and the Aldila NVS 65. Practically the same shaft. 3JACK I have the same question regarding finding a shaft very similar in bend profile to the Diamana Blueboard 73R. I put a NVS 65R in another driver head and the feel is similar but not exactly the same. What other shafts fit close the the bend profile to the Diamana Blue? |
