I don't understand this. With the iPhone app, you can plug in 13 feet and 2.5 degrees slope. Or do you mean the charts "don't have nearly as much information"? The charts don't. 5', 30°, and 1% increments. Which is fine. The app is too fiddly. I have my chart out for about five seconds, total. Got it, thanks!

Here's aimpoint in a nutshell for me: play double the break that I see for putts < 20' and force the speed of my putt to match the increased break. Triple the break for putts over 20 feet.

My routine is try and start reading the green from the get-go, even before I actually step foot on the green. I try this on approach shots because I value keeping the ball below the cup. From say 150 yards away, I feel you’re going to have to rely more on your knowledge of the green unless there’s an obvious slope you can see from that distance. Particularly important when considering to fire at a flag and where the best leave is if you miss the green. From 100 yards and in you can see the green a little more. Obviously, you’d like to stick it close, but maybe a little further away, but with an uphill putt may be a better means to an end.
Once I get on the green, the first thing I want to figure out is the length of the putt. Then I try to get a feel for the type of putt. If I’m close to the low or high anchor, I’ll take those into consideration as well. Then try to determine the % of slope. Then I start making the calculation. If I get some trouble with a read, usually it’s with the percentage of slope. So what I’ll do is look at the calculations for both slope %’s that I’m debating between and then try to see what read makes the most sense. For example, I may have a 20 foot putt where I think the read may be at either 2% or 3% and that may be the difference between a 20 inch break to the left or a 32 inch break to the left. I usually wind up looking at the putt and deciding which of those 2 numbers makes the most sense.
