I believe that RGIII is a much better QB than Cam Newton and RGIII's sophomore slump will be shorter and not as bad. I love watching RGIII play and root for him. RGIII has more tricks up his sleeve at the QB position than Cam. I'm impressed with the amount of QBs that are playing at a high level in the NFL. 10-15 could easily take their team to a SuperBowl (and Alex Smith isn't in the 10-15) now or in a few years.
Vick sucks!!!!

There's just so much talent among the very young QBs. Luck, RGIII, Cam, Bradford, and Stafford will probably make up the top 5 QBs in the league one day.

Hey, Richie, good Bears x Cowboys game. It was close early on.
It's too bad that after the game, people will look at Romo's stats and not see the big picture.
Romo played excellent throughout most of the game, but his receivers let him down with drops, and also caused 2 of the early interceptions. Football is a game of momentum, and each squandered opportunity usually bites you in the ass later on.
Romo was hitting his receivers in their hands, and they were dropping them. He was keeping drives alive with his scrambling, and he was actually able to move the ball real well against the Bears.
The later INTs were more about playing in desperation and forcing the action, because of the score.
Dez had just an awful game.
The one play the Cowboys defense couldn't pick up was where Marshall would work in the slot .... usually just sitting in the middle ... then he'd catch and run. That really hurt the Cowboys.

I've been hard on Romo over the past 3 years, but this year he's getting no help. That and the Cowboys defense still cannot make interceptions. From a statistical perspective, it's easy to see how the defense's inability to make interceptions greatly hurts their chances. And it doesn't matter what the scheme or D-Coordinator or head coach is, they can't get the INT's.
What's crazy is that if you look at all of the legitimately great pass rushers in NFL history, almost all of them go to at least 1 Super Bowl or at least a Conference Championship game. I doubt Ware will ever even sniff the NFC Championship game.
As far as Romo goes, he deserves better. Hell, the Cowboys fans deserve better. We see the same crock of shit on the field for the past 15 years and they wonder why Cowboys fans are not overly loud at Cowboys Stadium. When you see a team fail every year in the same fashion, it's hard to get excited for it.
And that's where it leaves me. Personally, I'm at the point where I hope Romo leaves for somewhere else while he still has gas in the tank. He deserves better than the nonsense he gets with this organization. He's not perfect, but he's a lot better than his critics give him credit for and Cowboys haters can rest assured that if he were to leave, the Cowboys would get worse and miss him.
This team is horrifically 'un-fun' to watch. They lose in the same fashion and there is no real hope or optimism.
Right now, my projections have them at going 5-11 based on a statistical model that I have. Sure, things can change, but they have played awful football for the 3rd week in a row.

The Cowboys have receiving talent, but for some reason, they aren't reliable in the clutch.
Some teams get rid of those type of players, like the Ravens getting rid of Evans after he got stripped of the TD that should've brought the Ravens to the Superbowl. Pats did the same thing to their 2006 leading receiver, when he choked against the Colts in the playoffs.
Romos 2 receivers had better have glue hands the next time they play. Nothing is more frustrating than receivers dropping perfectly thrown balls.
On a trade, I could see Romo commanding a 1st round pick.

Anyone pay attention to the Vikings offensive line? It's extremely impressive, and I believe it's one of the reasons that Ponder feels so comfortable in the pocket, and that Peterson is so tough to stop.
They're extremely physical, they get really good push with the rush, and their pass protection is really good. Their top pick Kalil is stoning anyone he faces on the left side.
Their offense is pretty simple and conservative, but their OL just keeps beating up on DLs. It's retro football in an era where most OLs around the league are pretty bad.
Couple that with their excellent defense and special teams, and they're a tough team to beat.

Richie, what's the difference between ...
Jacksonville (+6) over Chicago, and
Chicago (-6) over Jacksonville?
I always thought it was just the points one team is favored to beat the other team.

First one is saying it will take Jacksonville and the points.
The second one is saying it will take Chicago to cover.

2-1 this week with the Jags not even coming close to scaring the Bears. Still, 66% is phenomenal in the NFL. That puts me at 6-4-1 for the year.

That puts me at 6-4-1 for the year. 3JACK The Bears had an easy defensive game plan .... stop MJD; aside from one 27 yard run, MJD was a non-factor. They didn't get as much push in the pass rush as they had been the previous games, but that's probably because they used personell who are better against the run.

Andrew Luck right now is playing like the NFL is the NCAA. I think it's pretty safe to say he's very comfortable with the speed and talent in the NFL. Great comeback and composure by Luck, but to me, Luck did not play much better in the 2nd half ... he played solid the whole game. It's his receivers that finally stepped up. Aside from Wayne, that is not a reliable receiving corps. Anyone realize that the Colts' logo is a horseshoe, which is a symbol for luck. I guess he's the chosen one.

Tough break with RGIII's concussion; hopefully, he now knows when to run, and when to slide and cut loss.
There was just too many yards to cover, and the defense was not caught off guard, so him trying to get the yards running was not a smart move.

Bellichick is ahead of the curve again with his super hurry up offense. Sometimes, it looks like Brady just steps up under center and the ball is immediately snapped, and not just for running plays. Phil Simms said you'd better get used to it, because this will be the direction of the league.
Not only is the defense tired, because they can't get substituted, but the defensive coordinator doesn't have the time to call in a play.
The Pats offense is like precision surgery done at a breakneck pace.
